Meet Greater RDG Launches

On March 1, at an exclusive gathering of Greater Reading professionals and influencers at the Canal Street Pub, the Meet Greater RDG team launched the program, platform, and movement that tells the Greater Reading region’s story. Guests enjoyed a live art experience, signature cocktails, and a photo booth as they learned more about the community we embrace.

Guests included Greater Reading residents who both grew up in the region as well as those who have chosen to relocate. Pamela Shupp, COO/EVP, Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, and Randy Peers, CEO/President, Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, kicked off the program, to detail why the Meet Greater RDG talent attraction effort was so necessary for our area.

“Tonight is about a place,” said Peers. “It’s about telling the story. We have a good story to tell, with many narratives.” He then introduced three Greater Reading residents: Ebony McNeil, Jim Cinelli, and Alexia Pursley- to tell their story as thriving professionals in our region.

“This is a live/work/play community,” said McNeil. “It’s not just about attracting people to our area, but it’s about keeping them here too.”

While getting an exclusive look at the Meet Greater RDG specifics, including the annual magazine, website, and branding (and amazing MGR t-shirts!), guests also answered a question those of us at Meet Greater RDG are dying to know: what’s your WHY?  Lone Cricket Productions was on hand to record video testimonials from the people who make our region great: why do you live here? Why is this community so amazing?
