Three Berks County Farms Permanently Preserved for Agriculture

Three properties in Berks County are designated to remain “farms forever” through Pennsylvania’s Farmland Preservation Program, securing 245 acres from future development. The state’s investment of $637,936, combined with $100,329 from the county, will protect Dawn A. Dieter’s 60-acre crop and livestock farm in Upper Tulpehocken Township, Meadow Glen Farm’s 134-acre crop farm in Windsor Township, and Bryan R. Younker’s 51-acre crop and livestock farm in Greenwich Township. This local preservation effort contributes to Pennsylvania’s statewide initiative to safeguard prime agricultural land, ensuring future food production and economic stability in the region.
