The Reading Science Center has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF), supporting its Science Storytime program which introduces young children to STEM concepts through engaging stories and hands-on activities. Launched in January 2025, this initiative aims to foster curiosity and critical thinking by connecting early literacy with scientific exploration. The grant will enable the program to expand beyond its downtown Reading location, with monthly sessions continuing at the Center and a new traveling version bringing Science Storytime to local libraries starting this fall, complete with a free book for participating families.
