The Broadcast District at Spring Township, a new mixed-use center located at Broadcasting and Paper Mill roads, is set to significantly transform the retail and residential landscape of Berks County. Anchored by the county’s first Whole Foods Market and featuring 120,000 square feet of retail space, the development will introduce several national chains to the area, including Shake Shack, Sephora, First Watch and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Beyond retail, the project includes 441 new homes and 341 apartments, creating a comprehensive “live-work-play” environment. Designed to be a regional destination, the site also prioritizes community and recreation with 2.5 acres of open greenspace, a dog park and a one-mile walking trail. Construction is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with the first tenant openings projected for fall 2027.
