Greater Reading is full of places for kids and ones that will bring out the kid in you.
When you live in Greater Reading, your kids will tell you they are bored a whole lot less. Work becomes something you do in between weekends spent making family memories. Here’s a weekend itinerary made for parents by parents.

SATURDAY
Start your morning by burning off some energy in the nature-made playground at the Nature Play Zone at Angelica Creek Park.
Lunch: Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy while strolling the Reading Public Museum’s arboretum, which covers 25 acres along the Wyomissing Creek.
Midday: Head inside to cool off and explore one of the museum’s rotating exhibits, then visit Nefrina, its resident mummy. Afterward, take in a show at the Planetarium. Spoiler alert: Elmo kicks a soccer ball around the moon because, duh, no gravity!
End the Day: Satisfy your sweet tooth and order some freshly made peach ice cream at the iconic Cone in Wernersville, while the kids play on the wooden train set.

SUNDAY
Brunch: Sweet or savory? Start your morning off your way at B2Bistro. It has the entire family covered with its extensive brunch menu. Adults will like the $20 mimosa flights, and kids will surely enjoy some Banana Nutella pancakes.

Midday: Lace up your hiking boots and head to Nolde Forest to explore its more than 725 acres of woodlands. The entire family can hike its network of trails exploring streams and ponds along the way. Immerse yourself in nature and let your kids’ imaginations run wild as they spot birds, squirrels and maybe even a deer or two.
Dinner: Forget Taco Tuesday. Treat the kids to tacos at one of the three Alebrije Mexican Restaurant locations where they eat free on Sundays.
