Lives in Shillington
Have you always lived here? Did you grow up here, move away, and come back? Did you grow up somewhere else and move here?
I was born and raised in Tunkhannock, Pa. I moved to Hamburg at 14 and have remained in different parts of Berks for most of my life. I have lived in center city Reading, Fleetwood, Shillington, and Hamburg.
Why do you think Greater Reading is a great place to live and work?
Berks County is a beautiful, scenic area. One minute you can catch a show at the Santander, and the next minute you can be on Skyline Drive on rural roads with a beautiful view. By taking a short drive down the road, you can pick apples or watch race cars at Maple Grove.
What do you want outsiders to know about the Greater Reading Community?
Most of the residents here are genuine and kind humans. The restaurants and food choices here are endless.
What are your favorite local activities to do with your family or friends?
We love walking the Wyomissing paths and visiting dog parks. We also love to attend festivals on Penn Ave.
Name your favorite:
- Restaurant: Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza
- Local shop: Godfrey’s Dogdom
- Event or festival: Pretzel Fest
- Hidden gem: Nolde Forest
Do you serve on a board or volunteer in the Greater Reading community? Tell us what your role is and the name of the organization.
I am the secretary of the Welsh Woods Homeowners Association and I’m a grocery volunteer for Berks Encore.
