Ebony McNeil, Universal Branch Manager, Members 1st Credit Union
Lives in: Muhlenberg Township
For more than two years, Ebony McNeil has been the Universal Branch Manager at Members 1st Credit Union in Sinking Spring. McNeil is also the Founder & Executive Director of The Forge, a men’s enhancement group that focuses on character-building, leadership and husbandry. The group is free to men 16 years old and above and meets once per month.
Members 1st encourages professional and personal development. It even requires its employees to complete volunteer hours each year and is considered as part of their year-end review. The “amazing and inclusive culture” at Members 1st is a big part of what convinced McNeil to accept the position there. He says the company goes above and beyond to make sure all employees feel valued and included. “We before me,” is a common company phrase.
A typical day for McNeil starts with a team huddle to look at the goals for the day. He spends some of his time on leadership calls and can even be found hopping on the teller line when needed to ensure all Members 1st members have a minimum wait.
Bringing Members 1st products and services to a business—giving them the tools to watch them grow—is most rewarding for McNeil.
McNeil says Greater Reading is a great place to relocate because business is growing in all industries, especially in entrepreneurship and small business. He was born and raised in the city of Reading, so working in Greater Reading was a “no-brainer” for him.
