Deerfoot Winery earns 8 medals at Finger Lakes International Wine Competition

Deerfoot Vineyards & Winery was awarded 8 medals in the distinguished Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in Mendon, New York. Top honors went to Country Rose which took “Best of Class”/ PLATINUM in the Rose category, and a prestigious DOUBLE GOLD was awarded for their Dry Riesling. Silver Medals include Country Red (Concord/Riesling blend), Chardonnay, and Chambourcin. Blanc de Blancs, Comfy Couch (Cayuga White), and Migration (Sauvignon Blanc) each captured a Bronze, rounding out vintner and owner Dan Brown’s most notable showing to date.  Deerfoot also won the “Best Native” class at the American Wine Society competition in Bellevue, WA on October 29th making this the second best of class award in less than 12 months for the small winery.

“Our focus has always been on the wine”, says owner and winemaker Dan Brown. “We don’t have a fancy Chateau or music venue so it’s all about the product.”
