A new study by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP) reveals that Albright College and Alvernia University have a significant annual economic impact of over $303 million on Pennsylvania’s economy. Based on 2023 data, the two institutions are responsible for creating or sustaining over 2,400 jobs in the Greater Reading region, including a combination of direct employment and indirect jobs in related businesses like retail, hospitality and healthcare. The report also found that the colleges generate about $23.8 million in annual tax revenue for local and state governments.
