Reading Area Community College recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Schmidt Training and Technology Center (STTC) with a keynote address from Robert Herjavec. The event honored the legacy of local entrepreneur Rolf Schmidt and emphasized the center’s role in supporting Berks County’s manufacturing sector, which accounts for 20% of the local GDP. A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of a $1 million endowment to support scholarships for Reading High School students transitioning to RACC. With partnerships across 175 companies, the STTC continues to serve as a vital hub for workforce development, ensuring that local workers are prepared for high-tech roles in the evolving manufacturing industry.
