$3.4 Million Grant Boosts Berks County Rail and Manufacturing

Pennsylvania is investing over $3.4 million to upgrade rail infrastructure in Berks County, helping local industries move goods more efficiently and safely. The funding includes $2.6 million for the Berks County Redevelopment Authority to build and replace tracks serving the Boyertown Foundry, as well as $827,000 for H&K Group to improve the rail siding at the Birdsboro Quarry. These projects are part of a larger state effort to support manufacturing, protect local jobs and ensure that Berks County businesses stay connected to the global economy. By modernizing these rail lines, the state is strengthening the foundation for local commerce and long-term industrial growth.
