$150K State Grant to Support Building a Better Boyertown’s Iron Valley Trail Project

Building a Better Boyertown has secured a $150,000 state grant to purchase over seven acres of land in Colebrookdale Township, marking the official start of the Iron Valley Trail project. Supported by the Greater Berks Development Fund, which is an affiliate of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, this funding allows the community to begin the first phase of a trail network that will eventually connect Boyertown to the Schuylkill River Trail. The property will be turned into a nature preserve that is easy for everyone to access, featuring a picnic area, restrooms, and parking for local families. This project represents a big step forward for local outdoor space, and the next steps include surveying the land and finishing the technical design work.
