Where are you from originallyI am originally from Finksburg, Maryland.

What inspired you to pursue an internship in Greater Reading? My professors as well as my parents inspired me to pursue an internship in the Greater Reading area. They were able to show me the high quality of business that RKL completes, which led me to want to learn how the high-end firms handle their businesses. My parents always told me to work hard and set myself up for success and an internship in Reading will and has set me up for a successful future.

How has your experience in Greater Reading shaped your academic or career goals?  I have now completed two internships with RKL and that has shaped my goals in a tremendous way. First, professionally it has shown me that there are many ways to have success in the accounting and assurance fields, but specifically that hard work is rewarded. With this understanding, my goals have evolved to strive for excellence in every area of my life. These aspirations naturally extend to my academic pursuits, which have always been ambitious. In fact, I am proud to share that I graduated this May, having earned a spot on the Dean’s list every semester throughout college.

What advice would you give other students considering internships in Greater Reading? For other students looking for internships in the Reading area, I advise them to keep an open mind and work hard. There are many different world-class companies and businesses in the Greater Reading area that offer unique opportunities, which other companies in different areas cannot. These companies have been built through hard work and  are looking for hardworking interns.

If someone is visiting the Greater Reading area, what hidden gem would you recommend they check out? If you are visiting Reading, I would insist on trying The Knight’s Pub, which is a restaurant inside of a castle. The food is delicious with a truly unique atmosphere.
