Berks County Arts Fund Grants $50,000 to Support Local Art Projects

The Berks County Arts Fund, managed by the Berks County Community Foundation, has distributed $50,000 in grants to six local organizations to enrich the community through diverse visual arts programming. Recipients include Alvernia University for a mural at the Lighthouse Playground, Theron Cook Art Don’t Quit Foundation for an “ArtCycle” project painting city bins, and Our Town Foundation for a community mural in Hamburg. Other grants support the State Theatre Preservation Society’s summer movies, Reading Theater Project’s outdoor puppet performance, and the Reading Symphony Orchestra’s “A Visual & Musical Mosaic” combining music with student photography of Berks County.
