Wyomissing is set to host its Annual Independence Day Parade and Celebration on Friday, July 4, promising a day of music, memories and community pride. The festivities kick off the night before with a dazzling fireworks show over the Wyomissing Pool. The parade itself will feature Philadelphia’s legendary Greater Kensington String Band, along with numerous other musical acts and community groups, including WWII veterans and local sports teams. This year’s Grand Marshal is American hero Betty O’Connell, a proud Navy veteran and lifelong nurse. The day concludes with post-parade activities on the Stone House Lawn, offering bounce houses, games, food and a pie-eating contest for all to enjoy.
