The Reading Science Center has been awarded a significant $175,500 Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credit through Governor Shapiro’s administration, a crucial boost for its mission to expand STEM learning in Downtown Reading. This funding, directed through long-time supporter Shuman Development Group, will enable the Center to double its exhibit space, add an additional classroom, and introduce exciting new interactive exhibits, including “Energy in a Box” developed with East Penn Manufacturing. This expansion is a “game-changer,” allowing the Center to accommodate larger school groups for full-day field trips, ultimately increasing its capacity to host up to 200 students daily and inspiring more children across Berks County with engaging science experiences.
