In both values and practice, the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) is committed to inclusion and excellence in the management of many diverse people, regardless of differences. The Greater Reading Area is proud to be a community that allows no restraint on economic freedoms on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
Through our commitment to diversity, we seek to foster the growth of our local workforce and economy by engaging in sustainable programs and services that leverage and strengthen our reputation as a healthy, thriving business community. In addition, we strive to provide opportunities for all stakeholder contributions and talents to be heard and valued as we continue to align our efforts to cultivate a diverse place to work and live.
In the Greater Reading Area, we recognize that diverse perspectives are fundamental to a broader understanding of ever-changing demographics and community needs.
The Diversity + Inclusion (D+I) Committee, a standing committee of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GRCCI) Board within the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), was created to provide guidance on inclusivity best practice to further our region’s economic competitiveness and to affirm our commitment to reflecting diversity.
Our local Berks County businesses embrace diversity in the following ways:
In the Workplace – Adopting policies and practices that include those who have been historically absent from certain industries and organizations is vital to the evolution of a successful company.
In the Workforce – A concerted effort to recruit qualified employees from a range of traditionally underrepresented groups and victims of employment prejudice is key in developing a more positive, inclusive, and well-rounded community. GRCA’s Women2Women enterprise is a shining example.
W2W connects the area’s women leaders from diverse backgrounds in order to help them share ideas, mentor and learn from one another.
In the Marketplace – Engaging more effectively with minority-owned enterprises and consumer groups in order to develop more inclusive products and services, as well as to further bolster a thriving regional economy, is absolutely necessary for the achievement of an equal future for everyone.
The GRCA is proud to feature a diverse and inclusive community, both internally and externally, when it comes to our local businesses and industries. In the Greater Reading Area, we believe that our region’s economic competitiveness is positively reflected in the diversity and representation we are proud to offer.
For this reason, we remain committed to social progress for individuals from all race, creed, ethnicity, orientation, background, and walks of life. Come see the difference that this vision makes for our local Pennsylvania community. Meet Greater Reading today.
